Summer Spectacular – Magic Show & Disco at Kesgrave Community Centre is back in 2024!

KWMCC Events presents Summer Spectacular 2024 with Mr Bean Entertainments this Summer holidays on Sunday 11th August 2-4PM. An event filled with laughter, magic, games, and balloon models for everyone to enjoy.

Suggested age for children for this event is 4yrs-10yrs. Under 1’s entry is free.

🎉 Disco Fun & Games: Dance the afternoon away to your favourite tunes at our lively disco; plus plenty of party games too!

🎩 Magical Moments: Prepare to be amazed by an incredible magic show… Our talented magician will perform mind-boggling tricks and illusions that will leave you spellbound!

🎈 Balloon Models Galore: The talented balloon artists will twist and shape colourful balloons into extraordinary creations. Each child will be able to take home a special souvenir to remember this fantastic day!

🍦 Tuck Shop Treats: Our Events Team will be operating a tuck shop, selling refreshing drinks, treats and delicious ice creams to keep you cool during the summer heat.

🎟️ Ticket Details: Tickets are priced at £10 per child; adult tickets are £2 each which includes a tea or a coffee. These can be purchased here (please note: all tickets are subject to booking fees).

Come along and see Suffolk Archives/The Hold touring display ‘Suffolk Wonders’ featuring landmarks and wonders from across the county.

Check out replicas of Ipswich Town Football Club and Abbey Gate in Bury St Edmunds. Plus, you can make your own awesome Suffolk models out of LEGO ® bricks.

Taking place at Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre 11am-2pm. Free to drop in!

A bit about Suffolk Archives:

Suffolk Archives manage the historical archives for the county of Suffolk. These archives include a wide range of council and parish records, plus various commercial records, local book collections, local newspapers and various personal items. These resources provide invaluable insights into the social, economic, and cultural history of Suffolk, making it a treasure trove for historians, genealogists, and individuals alike.

Suffolk Archives often collaborates with schools, community groups, and researchers on various projects, providing educational programs and workshops that bring history to life.

So, come along this August to KWMCC –The Suffolk Archives trailer will showcase some Suffolk Wonders and encourage young people to build Suffolk landmarks out of Lego.

Live Music at the Bandstand is coming to KWMCC on Sunday 18th August!

Where? Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre (KWMCC), Twelve Acre Approach, IP5 1JF.

We’d like to encourage our local community to bring chairs/ blankets/ and come to support these local musicians whilst enjoying a day of great music! There will be plenty more to enjoy across the day such as some family fun, shopping stalls, food, drink and treats! There will also be a licensed bottle bar from our KWMCC Conservatory; teas & coffees available also.

So, pop the date in your diaries & bring a picnic blanket along to enjoy a day of fun with us this August.

Line-up on the day:

First up, at 11AM, we have local singer-songwriter Adam Thomas! Adam plays acoustic guitar and has a rich vocal tone. He plays a mix of songs including a few favourites by Ed Sheeran and will have you singing/ dancing in no time!

At 12NOON, we’ll be welcoming duo Lorri & Gray, entertaining us with songs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, along with Irish and Folk Music too.

1PM – Local Kesgrave singer Jayne Katrine will take to our Bandstand stage, with a variety of well-loved hits from artists such as Amy Winehouse to the Foo Fighters!

2PM – Kesgrave singers Community Choir – we’re very lucky to have this fabulous group on our doorstep, and they’ll be singing a selection of upbeat songs from 60’s to present day.

Lastly, at approximately 3:30PM – Local Band Cool Remedy will be singing all sorts of well-known rock songs from artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Bryan Adams, Blondie, Queen, Dire Straits, The Beatles, Stereophonics and more!

It’s time for a Macmillan Coffee Morning! Taking place at KWMCC Ropes Hall 10:30AM-12:30PM on Thursday 26th September 2024.

Bring your friends and family and come to support our morning’s fundraising efforts for Macmillan! There will be some small businesses shopping stalls to browse and buy, a raffle; some games, tea, coffee, cake and music! Plus we will be joining forces with the brilliant Kay Fletcher Fitness to raise as many funds as possible for Macmillan together.

Previously known as ‘Smash Hits Party‘, our 80s & 90s Party Night returns bigger and better at the Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre (KWMCC), just outside Ipswich. Dance to all your favourite hits from these iconic decades and don’t forget to come in your best fancy dress!

Early bird tickets are now on sale for just £7.50 each for the first 50 tickets. After that, tickets will be available for £9.50 each. For a truly special experience, reserve a ‘VIP TABLE’ for up to ten guests for £115, located close to the dance floor with complimentary nibbles.

(Please note: limited seats are available with early bird and general admission tickets, but VIP tables of 10 guarantee your seat close to the dancefloor – book early to avoid disappointment).

Join us here at KWMCC on Friday 4th October with the Inertia Reel Folk Band for a fabulous evening of dancing & merriment. The band’s caller will explain the sequence of moves at the start of each dance and keep everyone on track throughout.

Doors + bar open at 7:30pm, with dancing from 8pm until 11pm.

Traditional Ceilidh music will encourage everyone to take part in a variety of dances that are easy to learn and filled with energy.

The atmosphere is vibrant and inclusive, as experienced dancers and newcomers alike come together to twirl, whirl, and laugh through the different formations and steps. Led by a skilled caller, participants learn the movements on the spot, making it accessible for everyone, regardless of their previous dance experience.
